Nuit Blanche 2024: a punk rock parade in the square of the Palais Galliera in Paris

La Nuit Blanche in Paris is an unusual nocturnal cultural celebration that turns the capital and its surrounding region into a vast open-air museum, inviting the curious to discover contemporary art in unexpected places. From dusk until dawn, the City of Light lights up with artistic brilliance, providing a stage for performances, installations and other artistic events, to the delight of Parisians both young and old. Curious and passionate visitors won't want to miss this unusual and free event on Saturday, June 1, 2024!

Why not take the opportunity to discover what awaits you at the Palais Galliera? Conceived by the Duchess de Galliera as a place to showcase her art collection to the general public, themansion was built in 1894. The Renaissance-inspired building became a museum of industrial art, rather than the Duchess de Galliera's collection. It wasn't until 1977, however, that the Paris City Council returned the building to its original purpose: the Musée de la Mode de la Ville de Paris was born. Closed for more than two years, the Palais Galliera reopened in 2021, unveiling a permanent collection in addition to temporary exhibitions. The program for Nuit Blanche 2024 at the Palais Galliera in Paris :

• Choreographic creation
  Soraya Thomas's new choreographic creation, and Paris premiere, is a deconstructed punk rock fashion show, like the catwalk, the central element of the fashion show, shattered into scattered modules that are walked by male figures in all their states. Indeed, the artist is proposing a deconstruction of the hegemonic image of the Western male, as suggested by the equivocal title of a piece composed solely of four male figures, Les Jupes.
  This decentering, or reversal, of the minority female gaze on the dominant male body feeds Soraya Thomas's interest in the processes of constructing canons and symbols linked to masculinity, the body and authority subjected to the rhythm of the military march and other processional movements. A perfectly imperfect dance to tell the story of our worlds. Soraya Thomas explores La Joie et l'Insoumission with Les Jupes.
