Become a racing driver, in the warmth of Paris... It's possible at Sim Drivers, the very first car simulation center in the heart of Paris, in the Saint-Germain-des-Prés district. The center opened its doors on January 12, 2023, to awaken the racing driver in you!
In a 170m2 space,Sim Drivers offers you 14 professional simulators mounted on jacks, for a 100% immersive real-life driving experience, as close as possible to the sensations of real racing drivers. These models are also used by professional racing drivers themselves, and can be connected to each other to organize local competitions between friends or colleagues.
To ensure immersion, electronic cylinders from Qubic System promise unrivalled reliability and precision. And when it comes to racing, the circuits integrated into the simulation software are laser-scanned, pinpointing every incline, climb, descent, bump and stone.
In terms of simulators, 10 are for adult beginners, two are for intermediate-level adult pilots, one is for professionals, and one is for children aged 1.40 m or over. And they're not all built in the same way: the children's simulator, for example, has no jacks. On the other hand, they are all played on Assetto Corsa, one of the most widely recognized software titles in the world of circuit racing.
How does the Sim Drivers simulator work? First of all, approach the kiosks and select the section of your choice, your car and your level of difficulty. You'll then be shown an explanatory video (or a team briefing, if you're coming in a group), with instructions on how to adjust the seats, choose manual or automatic mode, and even how to operate the pedals. Then comes the choice of circuit and level. Then it's up to you!
A simulator that the editors were able to try out! And we're not going to lie, we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the experience, which was far superior to that offered by other brands. So we let ourselves be tempted by the Formula 1 simulator, in real-life conditions. Sitting on our seat, the position is identical to that of a real Formula 1 car.
In terms of experience, everything is well explained from the outset (even if there's a lot to remember), and the sensations are there, perfectly conveyed. The simulator is sensitive to the slightest movement of the steering wheel and to the terrain, promising ultra-faithful reproduction of gravel and uneven surfaces, for example. As far as screens are concerned, Assetto Corsa does the job, allowing you to try out all types of cars on all types of terrain.
A truly great experience for all fans of motorsports and racing games, and accessible to all. So, shall we make a reservation?
