A family's journey above all, 4211 Km is the distance separating two countries and two destinies. A captivating play that traces a poignant journey of exile and freedom, back on stage at the Théâtre Marigny in Paris, from September 12 to November 3, 2024.

4211 km returns to the Théâtre Marigny in the heart of the 8th arrondissement on September 12. The play tells the moving story of Mina and Fereydoun, an Iranian couple seeking refuge in France. Their daughter Yalda, born in Paris, takes us into their life of exile, marked by love for a distant country and the hope of a return.

Written and directed by Aïla Navidi, the play is distinguished by its narrative, which explores themes of exile, identity and the struggle for freedom. With outstanding performances by actors such as June Assal, Sylvain Begert and Benjamin Brenière, the play has received rave reviews for its delicate, emotional treatment of complex subjects.

4211 km resonates particularly with current events in Iran, offering a glimpse of resilience and the fight for freedom. It is a moving testimony to life under an authoritarian regime and the Iranian struggle for freedom, a struggle that has lasted for over four decades. Viewers are invited to contemplate the story of an uprooted family who, despite the challenges, never ceases to seek its place in society.

A universal piece, to return to the essence of deep human stories and questions of freedom and cultural identity. 4211km is a tribute to human resilience and a reflection on the ongoing struggle for freedom around the world.

The play was awarded 2 Molières at the 35th edition of the ceremony, which took place on May 6, 2024:

  • Molière for Private Theatre
  • Molière for Best Actress : for Olivia Pavlou-Graham

4211 km can be seen at the Théâtre Marigny from September 12, 2024.
