Île-de-France: the best 2025 almond galette des rois is in Paris

Every year, the Syndicat des boulangers du Grand Paris awards a coveted trophy for the best almond cake of the year.

So, who wins the 37th edition of this competition? 1st prize for the best 2025 almond galette des rois in Greater Paris went to La Fabrique aux gourmandises. This famous gourmet house is located in the capital's 14th arrondissement. La Fabrique aux gourmandises' award-winning almond galette was made by Lionel Bonnamy. A fine victory for this artisan baker, who had already won the coveted title in 2021!

Just behind him is Sébastien Mauvieux of Maison Mauvieux, in Paris's 18th arrondissement. Finally, Elio Chaya of Boulangerie Bleue, in Rueil-Malmaison, Hauts-de-Seine, takes third place.

A total of 165 almond galettes, made by artisans in Paris, Hauts-de-Seine, Seine-Saint-Denis and Val-de-Marne, were tasted on December 4 by a jury of 70 professionals and gourmets. The judging was based on baking, decoration, puff pastry and resistance to cutting. Of the 10 candidates rewarded at the awards ceremony, 5 Parisian bakeries-pâtisseries feature in this 2025 ranking!
