This weekend, several public transport disruptions and pedestrianized zones in Paris are likely to impact your travels. Between rail works, neighborhoods closed to vehicles and possible gatherings, discover the essential information for this weekend of November 30 and December 1, 2024.
A new weekend of work on the RATP and SNCF networks in the Île-de-France region is scheduled for Saturday December 30 and Sunday December 1, 2024, to make progress on the Grand Paris construction projects, future metro line extensions or simply to keep the network in good condition. The first weekend of December promises to be a busy one.
This weekend, 2 RER, 4 Transilien lines, a tramway and a metro are affected. To find alternative routes if you need to travel, the Transilien SNCF website offers alternatives, with buses regularly scheduled to serve stations.
Here are the works scheduled for the weekend of November 30 and December 1, 2024
- RER C: Traffic is suspended between Pont-de-Rungis and Massy-Palaiseau, and between Juvisy and Versailles Chantiers throughout the weekend. From 11pm, no trains run between Paris-Austerlitz and Dourdan, or between Paris-Austerlitz and Saint-Martin d'Étampes. A substitute bus service is available.
- RER E: Between Tournan and Villiers-sur-Marne, the line is interrupted all day Saturday and until 3.05pm Sunday. No trains will run between Tournan and Villiers after 10.56pm on Sunday. Replacement buses will operate between Tournan and Paris-Est.
- Line H: Trains are replaced by buses between Saint-Denis Stade-de-France and Ermont-Sarcelles. This weekend, traffic is also halted between Paris-Nord and Sarcelles-Saint-Brice.
- Line J: No service between Conflans-Sainte-Honorine and Mantes-la-Jolie on Saturday, nor after 7.10pm on Sunday. A bus service is planned.
- Line K: No trains between Mitry-Claye and Paris-Nord all weekend; use RER B as an alternative.
- Line P: Until 5.30pm Sunday, no trains between Paris-Est and Coulommiers. Substitute buses run between Nogent-Le Perreux and Coulommiers.
- Tramway T4: The line is closed from 9pm on Saturday to Sunday inclusive. Buses will provide service.
- Metro line 4: The line is closed until 10 a.m. on Sunday for automation work. Alternative bus services (56, 38, 96, 58 and 68) are available.
In Paris: pedestrian streets and rallies
- Paris Respire: This Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., several neighborhoods will be pedestrianized, including the Sentier, Marais, Paris Centre, Mouffetard and Champs-Élysées. Note that some areas, such as Aligre (12th arrondissement), will only be accessible in the morning. These closures extend to the Bois de Vincennes, the Bassin de la Villette and Montmartre.
- Gilets Jaunes rallies: Due to possible demonstrations, metro stations may be closed by prefectoral decision.
