From February 12 to 16, 2025, the 6th edition of the Effractions festival of contemporary literature moves to the Gaité Lyrique, to question the links between reality and fiction, during meetings and workshops.

For its sixth edition, the Effractions festival, usually organized by the Bibliothèque publique d'information at the Centre Pompidou, is moving to the Gaité Lyrique, due to the museum's gradual closure. The festival showcases contemporaryliterature and its relationship with reality, focusing on commitment and social issues such as war, the environment and social struggles. From February 12 to 16, 2025, readers will be able to attend meetings, workshops and performances, and admire writers' appropriation of reality in their works.

This year, the festival welcomes some forty authors, providing an opportunity to debate with these writers of engaged literature, drama, literary journalism, poetry or slam, as well as the way in which they seize on a real element to create powerful works of fiction that challenge, through a variety of formats: round tables, meetings, readings, debates, workshops, major interviews, sound creations, podcasts, book signings...

The program offers the curious the chance to discover these writers through special events, which everyone can attend free of charge. In"Collusion", an author dialogues with a specialist on the central theme of his or her work; in"Regards Croisés", several authors discuss a topical theme that has inspired their text; "La revue de presse de l'écrivain" observes the author's relationship with current events and the press;"À voix haute" brings texts to life through readings in one or two voices; and"Chantier de fouille" analyzes the role of documentation in writing.

The festival will be followed by four literary events, including"Fait divers, fait littéraire? : La Désinvolture est une bien belle chose" by Philippe Jaenada, in dialogue with historian Véronique Blanchard, on January 29, 2025.
