Motocultor Festival 2025: Kerry King, Mogwai, Sólstafir... join the line-up

After thrilling many a festival-goer last summer, the Motocultor festival announces its return in 2025 with a new, 16th edition not to be missed on Thursday 14th, Friday 15th, Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th August in Carhaix, Brittany. On the program? Machine Head, Dimmu Borgir, Kerry King, Me and That Man, Eivør, Cult of Luna, Mogwai, Carpenter Brut, Lacuna Coil, Sólstafir, Fear Factory and Envy... Considered by many to be Hellfest's little brother, Motocultor Festival Open Air was first held in Brittany in 2007. Since then, the metal festival has come a long way. Based in Saint-Nolff, not far from Vannes in Brittany, the Motocultor Festival has featured a host of national and international artists since its inception, including Buzzcocks, Behemoth, Exodus, Eluveitie, Trivium, Sick of it all, Ultra Vomit, Opeth, Ministry and Soulfly.

After two cancelled editions in 2020 and 2021 due to the health crisis, the Motocultor Festival made its comeback in 2022 for 4 days, still in Saint-Nolff. A historic site that the festival has decided to leave. In the summer of 2023, the Motocultor Festival moved to a new playground in Carhaix ( where the Vieilles Charrues festival already takes place). The aim? To offer festival-goers a great line-up over four days.

In 2025, for its new and 16th edition, the Motocultor Festival returns to Carhaix with four new days dedicated to extreme music on Thursday 14th, Friday 15th, Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th August 2025.

What about the line-up? The festival has unveiled the first names in its 2025 line-up. Get ready to see Machine Head live. The American band led by Robb Flynn will be stopping off in Brittany to offer Motocultor festival-goers a good dose of metal. Other names confirmed for this 16th edition? Norwegian symphonic black metal band Dimmu Borgir, the inevitable Kerry King, Scottish band Mogwai, Japanese outfit Envy, Iceland's Sólstafir, Faroese folk artist Eivør and Me and That Man, the other band of Adam Darski, better known under the stage name of Nergal, leader of Polish band Behemoth.

The Motocultor Festival also confirms the presence of German power metal band Blind Guardian, Canadians Kataklysm, French Landmvrks, Americans Between the Buried and Me and Belgians Enthroned.

Looking for more? Cult of Luna, Carpenter Brut, Lacuna Coil, Fear Factory, Imperial Triumphant and Hangman's Chair are also on the bill.

This 16th edition of the Motocultor Festival is sure to delight your ears. Last summer, the festival welcomed such prestigious bands as Architects, Kvelertak, Clutch, Jinjer, The Halo Effect and Born of Osiris, as well as Millencolin, Red Fang, Opeth, Meshuggah, Magma, Baroness, Kalandra, Myrkur, Kronos, Exodus, Soulfly and Igorrr.
