Once again, France 2 celebrates the arrival of the New Year! On Tuesday December 31 , 2024, the France Télévisions channel is joining forces with the City of Paris to offer " La Grande Soirée du 31 de Paris ", a " grandiose, popular and eclectic" New Year's Eve event broadcast live from the Champs-Élysées. After setting up its cameras in Chantilly, Versailles and Fontainebleau, France 2 chose the world's most beautiful avenue as its backdrop last year; an emblematic location that France Télévisions has decided to reinvest on December 31, 2024. The aim? To celebrate the New Year in style, but also to relive the best moments of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
From 9.10pm, France 2 will gradually turn up the heat. Once again, Stéphane Bern is at the helm. The famous presenter will host the evening, which will feature a host of artists. For the occasion, some of them will perform live in front of the many spectators on the Champs-Élysées. These include David Hallyday, Chimène Badi accompanied by 100 backing singers, the Stars 80 troupe, the Collectif métissé, Lio, Cerrone, Dany Brillant, Titouan from Eurovision Junior with Petites Mains Symphoniques, and the group Imagination.
Several other stage and musical performances will be featured throughout the show. Pre-recorded or live, these performances will be followed from several of the capital's most emblematic venues. The line-up includes Kendji Girac, Jenifer, Michel Fugain, la troupe du Roi Soleil, Yanns, Jean-Louis Aubert, Santa, Chico et les Gypsies, Amir, Keblack et Franglish, Eddy de Pretto, K-maro...
Viewers will also be able to catch up with dancers from the Moulin Rouge and Paradis Latin, as well as the Phœnix and Folies Gruss circus companies.
To top it all off, from 11:50 pm, France Télévisions confirms a 3D video-mapping show projected onto the Arc de Triomphe. Lasting 10 minutes, itwill "evoke a multifaceted Paris". Finally, at midnight, the traditional fireworks display offered by the City of Paris. For around 10 minutes,"the Arc de Triomphe and the Parisian night will be set ablaze to open the year 2025 with the most beautiful of messages", announced France Télévisions in a press release published on December 10.
