Manu Payet and his one-man show Emmanuel 2 - Our review

Manu Payet is back for more dates with his one-man show Emmanuel 2, returning to Paris at the Théâtre de La Madeleine from November 21 to December 28, 2024. Created in 2023, three years after his Emmanuel show, the second instalment played to full houses during its first tour of several French towns.

WithEmmanuel 2, as with Emmanuel, Manu Payet wants you to feel like you're chatting with friends, unfiltered and relaxed. His first show gave him a renewed taste for the stage, and he's keen once again to share the moments of his life with the public, in a humorous way. He's now a dad and a boomer, tobacco-free and gluten-free, and wants to tell you the rest of his story at the Théâtre de la Madeleine in Paris.

Manu Payet began his career on the radio with NJR and quickly made a name for himself as a comedian. He became a household name thanks to the film Coco, and went on to star in several films, both in front of and behind the camera, including Nous York and Situation amoureuse : C'est compliqué. At the same time, he pursued his stage career with acclaimed shows such as Manu Payet au Bataclan in 2008 and Emmanuel in 2017. Manu Payet awaits you with new dates at the Théâtre de la Madeleine, in Paris's 8th arrondissement , from December 21 to 28, 2024, with his one-man show Emmanuel 2.

Our review:

A captivating, heartfelt show! Manu Payet opens up with humor and tenderness, sharing anecdotes about his personal life, his relationships with those closest to him, and his lucid but amused view of his 48 years. He evokes with finesse the recent changes that have marked him, offering a moment of complicity and emotion with the audience, from start to finish.

Some of the references are aimed at a 30-35+ audience, but even if you don't catch them all, Manu Payet 's talent is sure to make you laugh! Special mention must go to his hilarious impersonations, which are hilarious from start to finish, and keep you laughing all evening long. This show is a subtle blend of laughter and emotion, where you feel a real closeness with the comedian. A warm, funny and deeply authentic moment that leaves no one indifferent.
