Comedian and actor Vincent Dedienne will be appearing in Jean-Luc Lagarce's Juste la fin du monde in January, but he has also chosen to explore Jean-Luc Lagarce's diary as the basis for a new theatrical creation. Il ne m'est jamais rien arrivé can be seen at Théâtre de l'Atelier from the end of January.

Jean Luc Lagarce is one of the most widely-performed contemporary playwrights in France today. And for good reason, his plays are sold out. From January 23, 2025, Vincent Dedienne takes the ingenious gamble of exploring Jean-Luc Lagarce 's diary on stage in Il ne m'est jamais rien arrivé, a one-man show at the Théâtre de l'Atelier.

Who really was Jean-Luc Lagarce? Vincent Dedienne (winner of the Molière 2024 for best actor in private theater) delves into the intimate and profound reflections in the diary of the successful playwright, who died too soon. In Il ne m'est jamais rien arrivé, his diaries reveal the soul of a young man oscillating between humor and gravity, living between Paris and Besançon in the 80s.

Marked by a solitary existence tinged with romanticism, Jean-Luc Lagarce describes his obsession with theater, while witnessing the emergence of AIDS and the deaths of iconic figures such as Coluche and Simone Signoret. These pages sketch both the daily life of a passionate man and the upheavals of an era. A life at once grandiose and ordinary, imbued with sensitivity and lucidity, which will be recounted by Vincent Dedienne in Il ne m'est jamais rien arrivé, directed by Johanny Bert.
