Luc Plamondon, the Quebec lyricist known for his contribution to the heritage of French-language music, was honored this Thursday, November 9, 2023, at a ceremony to unveil his wax statue. Yves Delhommeau, General Manager of Grévin, and Jacques Pessis, member of the Grévin Academy, paid tribute to Plamondon's great career and immense talent.
The wax double of the famous lyricist was unveiled, marking a fine consecration of his career on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the show Notre Dame de Paris. Before the revivals of the show on November 16 at the Palais des Congrès and of the rock opera Starmania on November 14 at La Seine Musicale, we're off to discover his character.
Many of the high-caliber artists with whom Luc Plamondon worked during his unforgettable career were present at the ceremony. Among them were composer Richard Cocciante, singers Nicole Croisille and Fabienne Thibeault, and Starmania director Thomas Jolly. These artists, proud of their collaboration with Plamondon, shared this moment of immortality in his honor.
Thanks to the talent of sculptor Stéphane Barret, visitors to the Grévin can now meet Luc Plamondon 's wax double. The statue is presented in a setting that faithfully reproduces the atmosphere of a music recording studio, immersing visitors in the exciting world of musical creation.
