Let yourself be transported to Japan with an unusual "Inspiration Japon" evening at the Maison Impressionniste d'Argenteuil, on April 19, 2024.

Located at number 21 bld Karl-Marx, this Swiss chalet-style holiday home was built in 1871 by a carpenter by trade, Monsieur Flamand, as were all the houses on this part of the boulevard. It boasts many of the wooden decorations typical of houses of this type: mantling, balconies and roofs. The interior layout is typical of the period, with a central staircase leading to adjoining rooms.

By preserving the original architecture and configuration of the house, and offering an original scenography using digital devices to bring Claude Monet's paintings to life, the Maison rose aux volets verts takes a leap back in time to reach a wider public.

Creating a unique visitor experience in a setting reminiscent of the 19th century, introducing visitors to a wide range of content, and forming part of a global cultural and tourist offering - these are the aims of this establishment, which represents a truly innovative project on the scale of the département and the region.

Claude Monet drew much of his inspiration for his work from Japanese prints and gardens. After a self-guided tour of the Maison Impressionniste, enjoy a traditional Japanese concert in the Maison's garden, performed by the Gaden Ensemble. This concert is an opportunity to enter his world and let yourself dream. It will be accompanied by a culinary tasting.
