Nuit Blanche 2024: a high-flying show at Hangar Y in Meudon (92)

On Saturday June 1, 2024, Nuit Blanche returns for its 22nd edition in Paris and the Île-de-France region. This year, the cultural event is organized around the theme of Overseas France. An inspiring subject... Especially for the artists at Hangar Y, in Meudon, who are presenting their work during this unique nocturne.

What do you mean, you don't know about Nuit Blanche? Here's a quick refresher course: launched in 2002 by the City of Paris, this cultural event aims to showcase contemporary creativity by bringing art to the streets. Concerts, shows, ephemeral installations, exhibitions, museum open-houses... Over the course of an entire night, the curious enjoy hundreds of free events throughout the capital and surrounding towns.

This year, Hangar Y in Meudon joins the party. Inaugurated in 2023, this former airship hangar is now an art center dedicated tocontemporary art. With its singular architecture, the Hangar Y is a very special setting for works of art that are just as astonishing and inspiring.

  Dans le parc, le funambule s’élève au-dessus du Bassin de Chalais. Face à la perspective conçue par André Le Nôtre au XVIIe siècle, un voyage poétique en musique, à travers l’Histoire, s’écrit. Nathan Paulin, se lance ensuite dans la traversée de la nef du hangar classé monument historique. Au sol, accompagnés par le son de la voix du funambule, une dizaine d’acrobates exécute portés et voltiges. Cette chorégraphie suspendue entre ciel et terre souligne la relation intime que ces athlètes entretiennent avec leur pratique, qu’elle soit sportive ou artistique, défiant les lois de la gravité et touchant du doigt l’éternel rêve d’envol de l’être humain.
