Like other départements, Val d'Oise is also hosting the torch relay across its territory. On July 19, 2024, the torch relay will take place in the 18 communes and 7 stages of Val d'Oise 95. Find out more about the route and the program of festivities.

On July 19, 2024, the Olympic Flame, a symbol of peace and world unity, will criss-cross the Val-d'Oise and highlight the department's treasures on the occasion of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. On that day, the département will shine as the privileged host of this Olympic tradition, with a route that crosses 18 communes to conclude with a grandiose celebration at the Enghien-Soisy racecourse.

Detailed route of the Relais de la Flamme in Val-d'Oise

  • Théméricourt: The adventure begins in the heart of the French Vexin, marking the start of the relay in a natural and historic setting.

  • From Méry-sur-Oise to Auvers-sur-Oise: Passage through the artists' village renowned for its association with Vincent van Gogh, offering a cultural backdrop.

  • Forêt de Montmorency to Saint-Prix: The flame will travel through the lush greenery of this great forest, a symbol of tranquility and history.

  • From the banks of the Oise, Pontoise to Cergy: A journey along the water, echoing the link between river activities and the community.

  • From Sarcelles to Garges-lès-Gonesse: This stage highlights the diversity of Paris's northern suburbs.

  • From Cormeilles-en-Parisis to Argenteuil, via Sannois and Franconville: The flame will pass through dynamic towns representing the region's industrial and residential heartland.

  • From Deuil-la-Barre to Soisy-sous-Montmorency, via Enghien-les-Bains, Saint-Gratien, Ermont and Eaubonne: The final leg of the relay before the big closing ceremony.

More than a hundred bearers of the Olympic Flame will take turns on the Val-d'Oise route. These scouts have been chosen by the Paris 2024 Games organizing committee and its partners, the Département and the stage city. They have been selected to ensure gender parity, including able-bodied and disabled people, and representing all generations.

The big closing party

The day will conclude in apotheosis at the hippodrome d'Enghien-Soisy in Soisy-sous-Montmorency, where the last torchbearer will set ablaze the cauldron of the Paris 2024 Games. The site will host a huge popular festival, punctuated by sports entertainment, shows, meetings with athletes and a fireworks display, inviting everyone to join in the celebration.

Marie-Christine Cavecchi, President of the Département, underlines the importance of this event: " It's a fantastic opportunity for the people of Valdois to experience great emotions through the strong, universal values of Olympism.
