Once again this year, the fireworks display from the Eiffel Tower on July 14th was the highlight of a day of commemoration to mark the French national holiday. Parisians were able to admire the colorful spectacle from the capital's best spots, for almost twenty minutes. But how much does this traditional event cost the city of Paris?
Unlike in recent years, the French group Ruggieri, specialists in the design of pyrotechnic displays, gave way to Groupe F for the organization of the fireworks. Although the exact budget is not known, it is expected to be equivalent to last year's figure of 600,000 euros. A cost that has fallen in recent years, since it was 750,000 euros in 2017, then offering 35 minutes of son et lumières. The city of Paris has also opted for a more eco-responsible fireworks display, in order to limit plastic and aluminum fallout in the Seine in particular.
According to the Prefecture de Police, some 70,000 people watched the fireworks from the Champ-de-Mars and Trocadéro on July 14.
