Going to museums with children: a guide to family-friendly spaces in Parisian cultural venues

With their rigid airs, the almost-imposed silence in the collections and the seriousness of Parisian cultural venues, it's hard to imagine a museum outing with children, or even worse, with toddlers. However, over the last few years, more and more kid-friendly facilities have sprung up at the very heart of the capital's major cultural venues: for a fun, cultural outing with the kids, follow the guide!

Museums aren't always the most suitable outings for children: they quickly lose focus, there's no space to let off steam or keep busy, the exhibits aren't always suitable... That's why some cultural venues have decided to adapt to a family audience, with children's itineraries to discover works of art with educational tools, workshops coupled with guided tours, interactive and truly playful installations... Why not take the whole family to the museum?

Preferential rates, free admission for the under-25s, fun installations or exhibitions at children's height: Parisian museums are competing inventively to attract a more family-friendly audience to their collections. Interactive platforms, digital immersions, games, riddles and children's trails: get ready for a cultural and kid-friendly outing in Paris!

Throughout the year, one free weekend a month (approximately, from September to June) at the museum is offered to families: with free admission for all, family weekends at the museum welcome young and old alike with fun and original activities(workshops, demonstrations, tastings, investigations, guided tours, storytelling or music). It's the cultural event not to be missed with children!
