If I say Ireland, you're likely to say Emerald Isle, Lake Connemara, Galway pubs, Cliffs of Moher and Giant's Causeway, but also U2, Sinead O'Connor, beer, rugby and Gaelic soccer. When it comes to atmosphere, the Irish know what they're doing. All you have to do is go to a rugby match to soak up the spirit of collective, communicative celebration. Speaking of parties, there's one that perfectly describes the conviviality of the Irish: St. Patrick's Day. Over the years, St. Patrick's Day has become Ireland's unofficial national holiday - celebrated every March 17 - and has been a national holiday since 1903.

In Paris, there's a bar - or rather five - where you can soak up the so-Irish atmosphere. You've probably guessed it, I'm talking about O'Sullivans bars. Over the years, O'Sullivans has become the stronghold of all Irish people passing through or living in the capital, with five establishments in the City of Light: in Bastille, Châtelet, the Grands Boulevards and Franklin D. Roosevelt. But O' Sullivans by the Mill, the Pigalle bar, is without doubt the brand's most famous. Located just a stone's throw from the legendary Moulin Rouge, this pub has the particularity of being close to numerous other pubs on the Boulevard de Clichy. A boulevard that was on the front page of social networks during the Rugby World Cup 2023.
Like all other O'Sullivans pubs, the Pigalle location offers a host of events throughout the year, including match broadcasts, special evenings and St. Patrick's Day celebrations! But the O'Sullivans by The Mill bar has one thing that sets it apart from its brothers: it has a concert hall: the Backstage BTM (By The Mill), formerly the MCM Café, which had the honor of hosting Placebo, FFF, Matmatah, Muse, Archive and Nada Surf in the late 90s and early 2000s.
The O'Sullivans by The Mill bar is also set to be a major rallying point for the Irish during the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games.
In the meantime, the bar awaits you on March 17 to celebrate St. Patrick' s Day in style, with a live performance by acoustic duo Fifty/FIifty. Find the full program here. For a taste of the festive spirit of the Irish in Paris, head for O'Sullivans bars!
