Science Festival 2023: Guided Ocean Tours at the Tropical Aquarium of the Porte Dorée

The Science Festival is a fantastic opportunity to learn more about the world around us. Throughout the weekend, families of all ages can enjoy fun and educational activities at various venues such as universities, research centers, and science museums across Paris and Île-de-France. This year, the event takes place at the Palais de la Porte Dorée on October 14 and 15, 2023. As part of this 32nd edition, rediscover this stunning Art Deco building, originally designed for the 1931 Colonial Exhibition. Over the years, it has been renamed several times—first as the "Museum of the Colonies and Overseas France," then the "Museum of Overseas France," later the "Museum of African and Oceanic Arts," and most recently the "National Museum of Arts of Africa and Oceania." Today, the Palais de la Porte Dorée, as we know it, finally opened its doors in 2007.

It is also home to the Tropical Aquarium, one of the oldest in the world, along with a vibrant aquatic world waiting to be explored! Throughout the year, visitors can discover hundreds of species, from algae to marine animals, representing various tropical habitats like coral reefs, mangroves, and seaweed forests. You can spot exotic creatures such as clownfish, rays, lionfish, sharks, and many more, through engaging exhibits and activities suitable for all ages.
