Calling all gourmands! The Syndicat des boulangers du Grand Paris has named the winner of the 2024 competition for the best apple tart in the Paris region. So, where should you go to taste this succulent Île-de-France apple pie? We tell you all about it!
After the prizes for the best organic bread in Île-de-France and the best pain au chocolat, discover the 2024 results of the competition for the best apple pie in Île-de-France ! Organized by the Syndicat des boulangers du Grand Paris, this 2024 edition was held on November 7, and the winners were announced on November 8.
As always, there were a large number of candidates, with 72 entries (business owners and apprentices). To decide between them, professionals and gourmets had the difficult task of tasting the different apple tarts and judging the quality of the tart bases, shortcrust, shortcrust and puff pastry, based on several criteria such as presentation, taste of the pastry, overall baking, harmony of taste and cut.
After much deliberation, Stéphane Guichard came out on top. His apple tart, to be enjoyed at Les Petits Gourmands bakery and patisserie, in Athis-Mons, Essonne, is the best in the Paris region this year!
He is followed by Jean-Michel Carton, whose boulangerie-pâtisserie is located in the 10th arrondissement of Paris. Finally, Guillaume Macouin of Maison Macouin in Viroflay, Yvelines, takes third place.
A total of two Parisian bakeries and patisseries feature in the Top 10 of this 2024 ranking of the best apple pie in Île-de-France.
