Bastien Blanc-Tailleur is renowned for his haute couture cakes, true culinary masterpieces. These unique creations, crafted with respect for the traditions of French pastry-making, earned him the prestigious EPV (Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant) label from the French government in 2023, no mean feat. This label honors exceptional craftsmanship and places its workshop among the great houses such as Hermès, Lalique and Chanel.
In just a few years, Bastien Blanc-Tailleur has established himself as a benchmark in the world of luxury weddings. His bespoke creations grace the tables of the world's most prestigious palaces and private residences, as well as iconic venues such as theOpéra Garnier and Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte. Heir to a centuries-old tradition, he follows in the footsteps of master pastry chefs such as François Vatel, Antonin Carême and Urbain Dubois.
Blanc-Tailleur 's creations are distinguished by incredibly meticulous sugar decorations, combining aesthetics and gastronomy. A passionate collector, he has a library of reference works and an impressive collection of molds and prints, accumulated over the years and on his travels.
On receiving the award, Hélène Pietrini, Managing Director of La Liste, declared: "Like sport, pastry brings together a large number of enthusiasts. We are proud to bring together not only the greatest, but also the future champions of pastry-making". Bastien Blanc-Tailleur, 32, expressed his gratitude: "I'm very honoured to receive this La Liste award. It's recognition for the hard work and passion my team and I put into making our unique creations. We are fortunate to be able to promote French patisserie and luxury around the world."
The ceremony also rewarded 25 other pastry chefs from 14 different countries, celebrating the diversity and richness of the world's patisserie. We also salute the Ritz le Comptoir, which won the prize for Best Patisserie in the World, if you please.
