Following in the footsteps of the Transilien's U line, the V line takes over from the RER C and connects the Massy-Palaiseau and Versailles-Chantiers stations, with seven stops and a journey time of just 20 minutes.

Except for the residents of this area, the birth of line V seems to have gone unnoticed. And yet, the latest Transilien line has already been operating as a shuttle bus for almost a year! As of December 15, 2024, it officially joins the family, changes its name and joins the Ile-de-France Mobilités website and application.

In just 20 minutes, it connects the Massy-Palaiseau station in Essonne with Versailles-Chantiers in Yvelines. There are five other stops: Igny, Bièvres, Vauboyen, Jouy-en-Josas and Petit Jouy - Les Loges.

It was Valérie Pécresse who announced in June 2023 that the Massy - Palaiseau - Versailles-Chantiers branch of RER C would be disconnected in future, when line T12 opened, and would become a new Transilien line, the Paris region's commuter train network. No more and no less than a move towards independence, with no new stations created,so noreal change for users.

This will simplify the organization of the RER C, which is often affected by work or problems, by removing a branch, thus improving train regularity and service quality on both lines. On weekdays, users can enjoya train every half-hour on average, except from 6.30am to 10am and from 4.30pm to 9.30pm, when a train runs every quarter-hour, and from 9.30pm to the end of service, with one train per hour.
