To celebrate the Lunar New Year and Chinese New Year in particular, the Musée Cernischi is offering free family events on Saturday February 1 and Sunday February 2, 2025. On the program: musical tales, creative workshops and a spectacular lion dance.

To mark the Lunar New Year, and in particular the Chinese New Year, the Musée Cernuschi invites us to an exceptional weekend of free events. On February 1 and 2, 2025, get ready to plunge into the heart of Asian traditions in a sumptuous setting just a stone's throw from Parc Monceau, in the prestigious 8th arrondissement of Paris. As the city of Paris' museum of Asian art, the Musée Cernuschi boasts an impressive collection of Far Eastern works of art, displayed in a magnificent private mansion. The program for this festive weekend is specially designed for families.

A weekend under the sign of the snake

The Musée Cernuschi, dedicated to the arts of Asia, invites you to immerse yourself in the traditions of Lunar New Year 2025. Young and old alike are invited to take part in a series of free, no-reservation activities organized in the exceptional setting of this Parisian museum, just a stone's throw from the Parc Monceau.

The weekend kicks off each morning with the musical tale "Mon Royaume pour un plat", performed by Isabelle Genlis and Hô Thuy Trang. For 45 minutes, let yourself be carried away by a story combining poetry and music, ideal for discovering Asian traditions with the whole family.

Creative workshops and lion dance

  • Every afternoon, the museum's lecturers lead a creative workshop on the snake, the emblem of this lunar new year. In just 15 minutes, participants can explore the symbolism of this animal while making a small creation to take home.

  • On Saturday at 4pm, visitors can look forward to a lion dance performed by the Paris Lion Sport Association. This colorful, rhythmic show, presented at the museum entrance, is a real immersion in the festive world of Asian celebrations.
