After the phenomenal success of Parasite, South Korean director Bong Joon Ho returns with Mickey 17, an adaptation ofEdward Ashton's novel Mickey7. This sci-fi psychological drama features a prestigious cast including Robert Pattinson, Naomi Ackie, Steven Yeun, Toni Collette and Mark Ruffalo. Mickey 17 will be released in cinemas from January 29, 2025.
Synopsis: For Mickey, dying is a habit. He's a consumable, volunteered to test the dangers facing humanity. In the event of death, he is regenerated with most of his memories.
But what if Mickey 17 outlives Mickey 18?
The story follows Mickey Barnes (played by Robert Pattinson), a human "consumable" sent to a hostile planet to help colonize it. Each time Mickey dies, his memories are transferred to a new body, enabling him to resume his mission without interruption. However, after six deaths, Mickey 7 begins to realize that there's more behind this repetitive and dangerous task. As the hidden truths of his existence unfold, he is faced with choices that could overturn the established order on this new planet.
