On July 22, 23 and 24, 2024, Olympia hosts the crème de la crème of the Cultural Olympiad organized as part of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. On the program: performance, music, acrobatics, visual creations, dance and more, linking sport and culture.
The Olympia Cultural Olympiad will take place on July 22, 23 and 24 as part of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games . The aim of the Cultural Olympiad is to highlight culture and art in all their forms, in conjunction with sport. The event is taking place in a venue like no other: the famous Parisian music hall, Olympia. With a unique program, and an exceptional setting, L'Olympiade Culturelle fait l'Olympia keeps us waiting patiently for the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympics.
The program, spread over three days, is divided into three parts each day:
First part from 2pm to 4pm: a strolling tour of Olympia
- Out of the Blue: a show combining apnea, acrobatics and aquatic performances in a pool specially fitted out for the occasion.
- À l'Unisson: a unique 15-minuteshow featuring 20 dancers and a committed discourse on inclusion with amateurs (disabled or not), Paralympic athletes and professional artists.
- Le Live Magazine: a show at the crossroads of journalism, with testimonials and a film screening.
- Galerie Numérique: a digital art exhibition on the theme of sport on the big screens of the Olympia gallery.
Second part from 7.30pm: the big shows on the Olympia stage
- Part 1: Entre Ciel et Terre ( 30 min.), a bespoke creation with sixteen performers by Damien Droin, a former athlete and French vice-champion who has made his specialty the heart of his art: trampoline.
- Part 2: Level Up ( 30 min.), choreographed byAmala Dianor and featuring a group of 11 international dancers, combining electro, Afro, krump, hiphop new style, voguing, waacking and pantsula.
Third part and closing of the day: a different artistic battle each evening
- Monday July 22, Battle BD et Breakdance: Illustrators and breakers of renown will face off in a show presented in partnership with the Festival International de la Bande Dessinée d'Angoulême and the RStyle association. They'll draw live as a battle takes shape under the strokes of a pencil.
- Tuesday, July 23, Chessboxing: a sport combining boxing and chess, invented by author Enki Bilal and now organized within the World Chess Boxing Organisation, which brings together several thousand practitioners worldwide. The evening will feature an anthology match, the equivalent of a men's world championship in 6 rounds of chess and 5 rounds of boxing, with Carl Strugnelland Frenchman Valentin Marcelet. There will also be a women's match between Kenza Megzari and Sneha Waykar. Music will be provided by Dj muge and the evening will be hosted by comedian Vincent Desagnat.
- Wednesday July 24, Rencontre de Jazz Ibrahim Maalouf x Bob Beamon: International jazz star Ibrahim Maalouf invites a living legend from the history of the Olympic Games , Bob Beamon. Now a percussionist in a New York jazz band, Beamon is responsible for one of the most extraordinary leaps in the history of modern athletics. At the 1968 Games in Mexico City, Bob Beamon set a new world record in the long jump with a superhuman gesture that remained unbeaten for 23 years.
