Six days before the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, theCultural Olympiad invites you to theOpéra Garnier for a never-before-seen dance show. Do you like both classical and urban dance? Then you'll love Saïdo Lehlouh's creation, Apaches .
Apaches is a free dance show featuring 75 dancers on stage, including 40 hip-hop dancers and 35 dancers from theOpéra Garnier . This unique creation takes place for one day only, on July 20, 2024, for two performances as part of theCultural Olympiad. To a musical production by Thomas Bangalter, former member of Daft Punk, the dancers will express and highlight all the beauty of instinctive, spontaneous dance. An original creation, linking arts and sports as a tribute to the Paris 2024 Olympics .
Launched in 2018 by choreographer Saïdo Lehlouh, Apaches is an ephemeral, evolving choreographic performance that combines artists from the hip-hop community and other neighboring backgrounds. This participatory work includes amateur, novice and professional dancers, depending on the performance. Today, as part of theCultural Olympiad of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games , it includes professional ballet dancers from theParis Opera.
Saïdo Lehlouh is a French choreographer and dancer renowned for his innovative work in the world of urban dance. A member of the FAIR-E collective and co-director of the Centre Chorégraphique National de Rennes et de Bretagne, he is deeply rooted in breakdance, but in recent years has broadened his repertoire to include a variety of dance styles, as with his creation Apaches, revisited for theCultural Olympiad of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games .
