Two future brides and grooms, who don't know each other, want to find out more about each other before the big day. To this end, Silvia, the bride-to-be, swaps clothes with her servant Lisette. What she doesn't know is that the groom-to-be, Dorante, chooses to use the same ploy with his valet, Harlequin. Silvia's father and son are aware of this, and are amused by the situation, giving the victims of the deception a run for their money.
