Ludovic Petitdemange, astrophysicist and top-level paratriathlete, will lead this workshop. He is the president and co-founder of the A2CMieux association founded in 2018 to promote access to sport for the visually impaired by forming sports duos. He will be accompanied by an experienced guide and one or two members of the association, who are themselves visually impaired. This initiation is based on pairs of "sighted guide + visually impaired person (or sighted person in a situation of blindness)" confronted with an obstacle course.
A time for meetings, exchanges and feedback on experiences of inclusion in sport during this day to raise awareness of disability in sport. Musée de La Poste will be highlighting visual impairment in sport through testimonials from athletes from the A2CMieux association, in the presence of its co-founder Ludovic Petitdemange accompanied by a duo of runners, as well as the president of the Courir en Duo group, Lars Bosselmann (runner and marathoner), also accompanied by duos of athletes (guide and guided). In particular, he will be introducing their new Binôme platform, which brings together able-bodied and visually impaired athletes, and others, to create sporting encounters and form running duos, and soon other disciplines.
"Like all teenagers, Julien dreams of adventure and thrills. But when you live in a wheelchair, those dreams are hard to achieve. To make it happen, he challenges his father to compete with him in the "Ironman" triathlon in Nice: one of the toughest sporting events there is. Around them, an entire family will try to rebuild itself in order to complete this incredible feat. To prolong the experience, spectators will be able to wear masks to cover their eyes.
