The sculptor François-Xavier Lalanne created a succession of arcades and porticoes covered with vegetation, which punctuate the different areas and allow the garden to be crossed from one side to the other. The great perspectives have been preserved, allowing distant views of most of the monuments surrounding the garden, notably the Bourse de Commerce, the Forum des Halles and Saint-Eustache.
An avenue planted with three rows of trees and fountains leads to the vast Place René Cassin, which backs onto the church. Designed by architect Arretche in a very contemporary spirit, its flagstones form a labyrinth. The contrast between the ancient and the modern is accentuated by the presence, at the center of this square, of an astonishing Burgundy sandstone statue weighing seventy tons, created by Henri Miller and representing a bent head leaning on a hand. The work is entitled "Ecoute" (Listen). The artist was also responsible for the sundial in the garden.
Four glass pyramids below a bridge cover an imposing tropical greenhouse built as an extension to the swimming pool. The garden is bordered by two streets offering a wide choice of restaurants and brasseries
