Today, the convent and hospital have given way to a beautiful neighborhood garden that offers a pleasant, sunny walkway between avenue de Verdun, rue des Récollets and canal Saint-Martin. Square Villemin has expanded significantly eastwards since its creation, with three successive extensions - one to the ball park in 1980, another to the Quai de Valmy in 1986, and a third in 2000 - doubling its size in recent years.
