Edouard André and his wife Nélie Jacquemart lived surrounded by treasures in a sumptuous 19th-century mansion. Their collection, which became a museum in 1912, mainly comprises works from the Italian Renaissance (around 100 works: Boticelli, Uccello, Bellini, etc.), the Flemish (Rembrandt, Van Dyck, etc.) and French schools of the 17th and 18th centuries.
