The Pantheon is a neo-classical monument located on the Montagne Sainte Geneviève in the 5th arrondissement of Paris, in the heart of the Latin Quarter.
Originally built in the 18th century as a church to house the shrine of Saint Geneviève, the monument is now dedicated to honoring the figures and events that have marked the history of France. Its various successive destinations, its decoration, the inscriptions and symbols that appear on its walls, allow us to trace the construction - slow and contrasting - of the French nation.
