The Musée de l'Orangerie presents a fine exhibition devoted on the one hand to Abstract Expressionist artists, grouped together by the critic Clement Greenberg under the heading of "American painting", and which he sees as a descendant of Monet; and on the other hand to artists known as "Abstract Impressionists", whose works engage in dialogue with the late works of the Giverny master.
