Covid: shopping malls and department stores are wondering when they will be allowed to reopen

In order to curb the coronavirus epidemic in the country, French Prime Minister has decided to close all non-food shopping malls and department centers from January 31. This February 17, retailers’ federations are asking for more visibility with a reopening calendar, for instance.

Paris: how can stores set up Christmas stands on the street for free

To help stores with Christmas coming, the Mairie de Paris will allow storekeepers to set up Christmas stands from December 1 to January 3, 2021. This action will be fully free of charge and enable storekeepers to comply with the 8sqm-per-client gauge now necessary within stores.

Covid: stores allowed to open on Sundays until Christmas

During this Thursday November 12, 2020’s press brief, Prime Minister Jean Castex said that even though are not to reopen for the time being, easing the lockdown could be possible starting December 1st. Coronavirus: the sale of non-necessary products allowed until Wednesday in supermarkets

Facing the growing anger of small merchants and in order to reinstate equity, Jean Castex announced several new measures this November 1 on TF1. The Prime Minister made the decision to ban the sale of “non-necessary” products in supermarket starting Tuesday November 3. But leeway until Wednesday November 4 is granted. Furthermore, an extra 20 billion euros will be unlocked to support stores currently closed over the new lockdown.
