Lockdown rules soon to be eased for stores despite Covid-19? This is what Jean Castex hopes as said this Thursday November 12, 2020 during the press brief. He said that even though storekeepers are not able to reopen for the time being, hope is to be expected for December 1 if the health conditions allow it.
“If the rise of numbers in the next weeks confirmed we are in line with this perspective, first easing measures could be implemented from December 1” the Prime Minister explained, saying they would be “strictly limited to storekeepers that had to close for lockdown, and their reopening would be envisaged based on a reinforced protocol”.
A possible reopening that yet does not apply to all place receiving the public… Therefore, cafés, bars, restaurants and even gyms cannot reopen starting December 1, whether the health situation has improved or not: “This first step cannot yet apply to other places receiving the public where contamination risks are naturally high such as in bars, restaurants and gyms” he explained. A reopening that yet could happen for the Holidays. Whatever happens, the government’s goal is to “enable a new easing for the Holidays so that the French can spend the Holidays with their families”.
Easing is expected to be announced by two weeks.
