The Château de Jossigny in Seine-et-Marne (77) is rarely open to the public. Fortunately, however, a number of events give us the opportunity to discover this place steeped in history. For the 2024 edition of Contes et Histoires, the event devised by the Centre des Monuments Nationaux, the Château de Jossigny is exceptionally opening its doors to families on December 23, 24, 26 and 27, 2024. A rare opportunity not to be missed during the Christmas vacations !

Château de Jossigny is a jewel of the 18th century, the archetype of pleasure residences built by nobles and wealthy notables in the Age of Enlightenment. Château de Jossigny was built for Claude-François Leconte des Graviers by Jacques Hardouin-Mansart. The Rocaille-style monument is characterized by its picturesque Chinese decoration.

This holiday season, come and visit this magnificent residence, filled with the magic of the festive season, while enjoying the activities planned for the Contes et Histoires 2024 event. Young and old are invited to take part in an unusual and entertaining adventure.

On this Christmas in 1975, the Château de Jossigny witnesses a surprising arrival: Guy de Roig's heiress rings the doorbell! The château is her inheritance, and she intends to do as she pleases. For village resident Jeanne, things are not as simple as they seem... Why did the Baron, so attached to his estate and the village, donate his castle without telling anyone? It's up to you, as a family, to help Jeanne untangle this imbroglio. As you wander the castle with her, listen, watch and collect all the clues. A hot chocolate will be your reward!
