L'Institut océanographique s'attache à mieux faire connaître la richesse et la fragilité des océans et à promouvoir une gestion durable et une protection raisonnée et efficace de ces derniers. Fondé il y a plus de 100 ans par le Prince Albert 1er Prince de Monaco, il s’agit là d‘un lieu historique dédié à l’océanographie et rattaché au Musée océanographique de Monaco.
