To help health caregivers amid this health crisis, a Parisian pharmacist has created a temporary laboratory set in a street in Paris 6th arrondissement. At this point, this outdoor laboratory is able to produce 10,000 liters of hand sanitizer a day.

This is a never-seen-before initiative in France. Fabien Bruno, from the Delpech pharmacy in Paris 6th arrondissement, has opened an outdoor laboratory in a street of his neighborhood. The goal? Producing a large amount of hand-sanitizer to supply his pharmacist colleagues, as well as hospitals and even police forces and fight as much as possible against the coronavirus pandemic in the country.

Launched in compliance with the arrondissement town hall and the police, this temporary laboratory enables to produce 10,000 liters of hand sanitizer every day.

For the record, facing the shortage of hand sanitizer in France, in early March, the Health Minister authorized pharmacists to produce their own sanitizer. Pharmacist Fabien Bruno has been one of the first ones to start this home-made production.

A month ago, we never made hand sanitizer. With the first demands, we produced liter by liter, then 10 liters per 10 liters, 1000 liters per 1000 liters and now, we’re making about 10,000 liters a day” the pharmacist explains on BFMTV.

To produce such a quantity, the pharmacies says he’s helped by about fifteen people working 7 days a week, 12 hours a day.

Interviewed by RTL, Fabien Bruno says “every day, it’s sent throughout France. At the beginning, we had it inside and then we’ve taken a small portion of the sidewalk to stock boxes and containers. We had the idea to store it in boxes of fruit juice or wine to transport it more easily onto pallets to deliver to hospitals or nursing homes”. His goal? Producing 30,000 liters a day!
