After Italy, is Russian Covid Sputnik V vaccine soon to be manufactured in France? The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) stated this Monday March 15 they have carried out talks with several European industrial sites and signed production deals to be able to distribute their vaccine – once validate – to the European Union. Among signing sites, factories in Spain, Germany, and even France.
Director Kirill Dmitriev stated “Currently there are additional talks ongoing to boost production in the EU. This will allow us to start supplying Sputnik V to the European single market once the approval is granted by the European Medicines Agency”. Yet, the name of factories that signed a deal have not been issued yet.
Dmitriev also added Russia was ready to “start supplying those EU countries that had authorized Sputnik V independently”, such as Hungary. Note Sputnik V is currently supplied to around fifty countries, and the vaccine is currently studied by the European Medicines Agency expected to soon authorize – or not – marketing issuance.
