The health pass is now extended… On the occasion of a televised address on Monday July 12, 2021, French President Emmanuel Macron is to announce – as stated by several parliamentarians to our peers from AFP – the health pass is to be extended from July 21 to all events and venues open to the public over 50 people.
A health pass applying to movie theaters, theaters, show venues, museums, stadiums, night clubs, shopping malls, zoos, festivals, as well as theme parks, although a list is to be confirmed… And for good reason, theme parks managed to negotiate no pass at the doors, because of how difficult it is to instate this pass, children under 12 not being able to get vaccinated (and therefore having to take a PCR test).
What is this health pass? It is a – digital or paper – document to show at the entrance of places and venues is it required in, proving one has been fully vaccinated, or taken a PCR test within the past 48 hours, or has been infected by Covid and developed antibodies. A health pass was then required for events over 1,000 people and in night clubs. A gauge taken down to 50 people.
Please note that from early August, it applies to restaurants, bars, cafés, and some public transit such as trains and planes. The President is also to announce – still according to parliamentarian sources – PCR tests are to be charged from October and vaccination turns compulsory to caregivers starting from September 15.
