Fewer Covid-19 infections in France. According to the latest data published by Santé publique France, the number of new daily cases of coronavirus continues to fall in France, with 10,969 contaminations recorded over the last 24 hours to the evening of Thursday September 9, 2021. This trend has continued since last week, with more than 15,000 contaminations recorded by the public health organization on Thursday.

At the same time, other indicators of the Covid-19 epidemic are also showing a slow but significant decline. In addition to the number of new infections per day, the positivity rate (measuring the proportion of positive cases out of the number of people tested) is also falling. Over the last seven consolidated days, it fell to 2.3% on Thursday, compared with 2.4% the day before and 2.6% last week.

The good news - albeit relative due to the delayed"back-to-school" effect - also concerns hospital data. This Thursday, 10,323 people were hospitalized due to Covid, compared with 10,438 on Wednesday. Looking at the figures for the last 7 days, the decline is marked: 3,777 hospitalizations, including 1,009 critical care admissions, compared with 4,651 recorded last Thursday (including 1,067 in critical care). In addition, over 73.4% of the population has already received a dose of Covid-19 vaccine. Let's hope the decline continues!

And what if Covid vaccine was compulsory in France...?
