On the occasion of the Centenary of the Armistice 14-18 this Sunday November 11, 2018 the city of Paris pays homage to the last soldiers. We are all invited to gather around and remember! The duty of remembrance is vital and primordial for all generations.
In Paris as everywhere in France, commemorations, exhibitions, film screenings and public readings are held to pay tribute to the 9.7 million dead (including 1.4 million French) because of the First World War. Commemorative bells will ring in every French village on Sunday November 11, 2018 at 11 a.m. sharp.

Centenary 14-18: official ceremony at the Arc de Triomphe
To commemorate the Centenary of the Armistice of WWI, over 60 heads of state and 120 foreign dignitaries will gather at the Arc de Triomphe this Sunday November 11, 2018 at 10 a.m. “In the name of remembrance and peace creation”, they will listen to a name of soldiers who died during their mission these past 12 months.
Centenary 14-18: Inauguration of the Parisian War Memorial
On the occasion of the centenary of the Armistice of the Great War, Paris authorities inaugurates its Parisian War Memorial this Sunday November 11, 2018 at 5 p.m. Set on the outer wall of the Père Lachaise cemetery, the War Memorial draws up a list of 94,415 names on a 280-m long panel.
Centenary 14-18: huge wall by Crey 132 at the Invalides
Street art is part of the Centenary of the Armistice. The Office National des Anciens Combattants [Veterans’ National Office] asked artist Crey 132 to create a huge oval wall with the colors of cornflower on the roundabout of the Invalides Esplanade in Paris.
Centenary 14-18: 94,415 flowers in front of the City Hall
On the occasion of the Centenary of the Armistice of the First World War, Paris city hall sets 94,415 blue, white and red flowers in front of the city hall this Saturday November 10 and Sunday 11, 2018.
