The cold is settling in for good in France, with a marked cooling expected from this Friday, March 14, 2025. While snow is forecast for the plains in some regions this weekend, the question arises: will Île-de-France see a few flakes?

After a winter episode marked by morning frosts and falling temperatures, and even hail on Thursday, the forecasts from Météo France confirm a cold weekend in the capital and its region. While the snow is expected to fall mainly in the Centre-East and in mountainous areas, the Île-de-France region will not be totally spared from instability.

Free-falling temperatures in the Paris region

Parisians will have to dig out their winter coats. This Saturday, March 15, maximum temperatures won't exceed 9°C in Paris, while minimums will drop to around 1°C in the early hours. On Sunday March 16, the same scenario applies, with temperatures varying between 2 and 10°C. A moderate northerly wind is expected to make it feel even colder.

Snow in Paris and the Ile-de-France region?

While the capital is unlikely to see snow on its roofs, a few flakes could be spotted in the coldest areas of the inner suburbs. Wintry showers are not out of the question, particularly in Seine-et-Marne and Yvelines, where temperatures could briefly approach 0°C on Saturday night.

A weekend of clouds and gloom

No great sunshine on the cards! The skies will remain heavy throughout the weekend, with plenty of sunshine, but also cloudy spells bringing light showers. Despite a few moments of calm, the ambient humidity will reinforce the feeling of cold.

Caution on the roads

With these weather conditions, caution is called for on Paris region roads, especially early in the morning. The risk of black ice remains low, but present, especially on secondary roads and on the outskirts of the region.

What to do this weekend?

With the winter weather in full swing, why not take advantage of the opportunity to discover current exhibitions, take a gourmet break in a tearoom or enjoy an escape or action game sheltered from the cold? And if you're looking for other fun ideas, there's plenty to do this weekend.

A chilly weekend in the Paris region...
