Coronavirus: failure to respect quarantine, controls, and a fine given to travelers

Faced with the threats of coronavirus variants, France is now imposing a ten-day self-isolation period to travelers coming from Brazil, Chile, Argentina, India, French Guiana, and South Africa. Controls are planned to make sure this measure is complied with, including a €1,500 fine in the event of an offence.

The fight against the coronavirus epidemic goes on. As Brazilian and South African variants keep on making the world concerned, in France, a ten-day quarantine is to be complied with by travelers from Brazil, Chile, Argentina, , French GuianaIndia, and South Africa

From now on, travel purposes from these countries are a lot more limited. They are allowed to French citizens and their spouses and children, from the European Union or any other country on the condition their main residence is set in France. Upon their arrival in France, a prefectoral decree in their name will be given to them. It will feature the address gave and where they will have to self-isolate, as well as outing hour restrictions.

Gabriel Attal also said that police controls are planned to make sure quarantine is complied with. Or offenders may pay a lot: they could be punished with a €1,500 fine. And in the event of another offence, it could go up to over €3,000. The police is rallied to perform controls.
