Attention street art fans! As part of Paris Plages, a 240-metre-long XXL work of art is blossoming in a Paris tunnel. Since July 17, two artists - Sarah Viault, who lives in Polynesia, and Babs, a well-known figure in Parisian urban art - have been working together on an impressive fresco on the theme of the climate emergency and Polynesia, where the famous surfing events of the Paris 2024 Games are due to take place.
" Babs' raw, urban "Paris" will meet Sarah Viault's animal and floral "Plage" around a major theme: the climate emergency. This powerful, topical theme will deliver a strong, universal message " explains in greater detail the Urban Art Crew association - behind this fine artistic project supported by the Mairie de Paris - on its social networks.
To be discovered more precisely on the walls of the Henri IV tunnel, located in the 4th arrondissement of Paris, this gigantic work (240 meters long, 1,700 m2 surface area), and announced as"perennial", will be completed on August 11. To discover it, the Urban Art Crew association has had the (very) good idea of organizing free guided tours every Saturday and Sunday at 5pm, 6pm and 7pm until Sunday September 3.
So, would you like to discover this giant fresco in the Henri IV tunnel in Paris?
