From 9pm, the "Paris est une fête" pre-show brings the world's most beautiful avenue to life with a DJ set "associated with a generative work of art" by DAAULIAC and Amine Rachad respectively. Then, at 11:50 p.m., it's time to admire the grand finale: the unmissable video-mapping projected onto the Arc de Triomphe, with an original soundtrack by composer End Eno and musician French 79.
Immersia Production, in charge of organizing these shows, reveals a few clues about this sound and light show, which should take us through the many facets of the capital: "Capital city, city of light, romantic city, creative city, innovative city, people city, festive city. It will embody metamorphoses like so many promises of a new era of living together".
The show, staged by Jérémie Bellot and studio AV-Extended, runs for 10 minutes before ending with the traditional countdown. Then, at the first stroke of midnight, the famous monument is illuminated by a fireworks display orchestrated by Fêtes & Feux to a mix by DAAULIAC. The fireworks show, which also lasts around ten minutes, marks the start of the new year.
"Through the triptych of this show, I wanted to capture and celebrate the exceptional energy that animated Paris throughout 2024. It's in this wealth of cultural diversity that our uniqueness lies, a uniqueness we hold dear. At a time when our society is going through difficult times in many respects, it's crucial that Paris remains not only the City of Light, but also a symbol of celebration and joy," says Christophe Gillier, producer and artistic director of the December 31st show for Paris City Hall.
