Every year, the Nuit des Musées (Night of the Museums ) brings you a host of cultural highlights to delight both the passionate and the curious. Every year, museums, monuments, châteaux and other fine institutions open their doors to you for a fabulous program of exceptional evening events, free tours and unusual activities. As you'd expect: Paris and the whole of the Île-de-France region are taking this opportunity to invite you to rediscover the region's heritage in a whole new light.
This year, why not set out to conquer the capital's secret museums? This confidential Parisian address will surprise you! The Musée de la Contrefaçon is a private museum run by theUnion des Fabricants. It presents different types of counterfeit, some very old, others contemporary, by comparing them with original objects. Six rooms retrace the unusual history of counterfeiting, an illegal practice which, it's true, is conducive to the production of surprising objects.
If you think that only luxury goods are involved, think again! Even simple everyday products can be counterfeit: that's what you'll find here, alongside fake works of art and jewelry. Since 1951, theUnion des Fabricants has been collecting counterfeit goods seized by customs, police and gendarmerie officers, and presenting them to you for your laughter. The Nuit des Musées is the perfect opportunity to discover this little-known address in the Paris museum world! So, would you like to discover the program?
