The Musée de l'Armée opens its doors on the evening of May 18, 2024, from 7pm to midnight, for the Nuit des Musées. This exceptional evening will focus on France's military history, with a capital H, as theHôtel des Invalides and the permanent collections of the Musée de l'Armée will be open to the public free of charge throughout the evening.
Visitors can (re)discover this place steeped in history, created in 1905 with the merger of the Musée d'Artillerie and the Musée Historique de l'Armée, both already located in the Hôtel des Invalides. Open-air reconstructions of the Grande Armée bivouac, historical events, concerts, investigative games, guided tours, light shows... Throughout the year, the museum's program is rich in discoveries: lovers of history, and of Napoleon I in particular, are spoilt for choice!
The museum boasts a rich collection of uniforms, weapons, drawings, paintings and everyday objects, from Louis XIV to the wars of the 20th century. In addition to these collections, you can admire this monument to a flourishing history: the Invalides dome, the Cour d'Honneur, Saint-Louis Cathedral and even the Musée des Plans-Reliefs are all accessible with your Musée de l'Armée ticket.
