What an unusual Make Music Day Paris Musée Bourdelle offers you to enjoy. On Tuesday June 21, 2022, for the 40th anniversary of Make Music Day, the famous museum nestled in the 15th arrondissement welcomes “Les Goûts Réunis”.
This June 21, this ensemble including amateur and professional musicians performs the baroque folly and acrobatic glee of King Arthur by famous British musician Henry Purcell (1691). With this “semi-opera”, composer Purcell celebrated the return to theater after years of artistic austerity, in an uncommon fashion that was neither an opera or a musical yet.
On Tuesday June 21, the musée Bourdelle invites the audience to come and enjoy abstracts from King Arthur by Henry Purcell for three free performances (at 8 p.m., 8:45 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.), in the Hall des Plâtres. Each abstract is to last about 15 minutes.

To top it all, on June 21, the musée Bourdelle will open from 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Make Music Day as it should be.
For the record, Make Music Day was created in 1982 by the Ministry of Culture. That year, the Ministry of Culture's study and research unit carries out a huge investigation on French's cultural practices. They discover five million people, namely one in two, play a music instrument. From this moment on, Jack Lang, Christian Dupavillon, architect-scenographer, member of his Office, and Maurice Fleuret create a huge popular manifestation aiming all musicians to express themselves and play. The very first Make Music Day is launched on June 21, 1982, the day marking the summer solstice.
