Another Fête de la musique! This popular and festive event returns throughout France on Friday June 21, 2024. On the program? A host of free concerts in the streets, of course, but also in parks, squares and gardens, museums, churches and concert halls.
As on every June 21, all types of music are honored: from rock to rap, electro to classical, jazz to blues, reggae to zouk... So the French can give their all and perhaps discover the talent of tomorrow.
Launched in 1982 by Jack Lang, Minister of Culture at the time, the Fête de la Musique has become a not-to-be-missed event over the years, eagerly awaited by many. And every year, more and more musical bargains are offered, some of them quite unusual .
Such is the case of this event scheduled for Friday June 21, 2024 in the Cour d'Honneur of theHôtel de la Marine, located on the sublime Place de la Concorde. Also part of theCultural Olympiad, this evening combines art and music.
In this way, 250 volunteers will be able to take part in the creation of a collective work of art designed by artist MUMA and drawn using 25,000 candles! The work, which will reproduce illustrator Zeina Abirached 's original creation on the theme of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, will be created in the Cour d'Honneur of the Parisian monument on June 21 from 8:30 pm to 10:30 pm. Then, from 10.30pm, the general public will be able to discover and admire this collective, luminous fresco, while enjoying a free concert by the Sequenza 9.3 vocal ensemble.
If you'd like to take part in the creation of this collective work, please register here beforehand.
The organizers also point out that children aged 10 and over are welcome to take part in the lighting. Young people under 16 must be accompanied by their parents.
