Fête de la Musique 2024 in Cachan (94) with Dr. Yaro & La Folie and MIMAA in concert

Good news for our musician friends, as the Fête de la musique returns on Friday, June 21, 2024 all over France with a new edition as festive as ever! With its rich and eclectic program, the Fête de la Musique is an opportunity for budding musicians to share their passion with as many people as possible over the course of a single, festive day. All genres are honored. Whether you like rock, rap, electro, world music or classical music... you're sure to find what you're looking for!

As a reminder, the Fête de la Musique was created in 1982 on the initiative of the French Ministry of Culture. That year, the Ministry of Culture's studies and research department conducted a major survey of French cultural practices. It revealed that five million people, including one young person in two, play a musical instrument. So Jack Lang, architect and scenographer Christian Dupavillon, a member of his Cabinet, and Maurice Fleuret came up with the idea of a major popular event to enable all musicians to express themselves and make themselves known. The very first Fête de la Musique was launched on June 21, 1982, the symbolic day of the summer solstice.

If you're planning to celebrate in the Val-de-Marne, head for the town of Cachan, which is once again offering a rich and varied program. In fact, this year, the town of Cachan is celebrating music from June 14 to 21, 2024, culminating in a major free concert scheduled for Friday June 21 from 8pm on the Parc Raspail stage. Having welcomed Cats on Trees, Uzi Freyja, Vendredi sur Mer, Catherine Ringer, Jeanne Added, Miossec, Youssoupha, Yuri Buenaventura and Les Fatals Picards and Anaïs in previous years, who has the honor of bringing the Fête de la musique 2024 to Cachan? Well, on June 21, you'll find the young singer MIMAA ( hip hop) and the duo Dr. Yaro & La Folie (rap). The evening will close with a DJ set.

From June 14 to 20, Cachan will be showcasing its amateur groups. Amateur groups will be performing all over town. On the program (non-exhaustive list):

• Friday June 14, 8pm at L'Orangerie: New Jem choir (world music)
• Monday June 17, 7pm at L'Orangerie: Georges Migot choir (vocals)
• Tuesday June 18, 7pm at the central library: Edenya (progressive rock, folk)
• Wednesday June 19 at 7pm on the esplanade of the Théâtre Jacques Carat: La Voix est libre (variety, jazz, world music), Botox (pop, rock, variety), Edim workshops (pop, rock, blues), Reggae n'Ska (reggae), Njibe (pop, rock, variety), Ensemble vocal du Cèdre (classical), Gimme some (pop rock, variety), Turbulence (pop rock)
